In 1983, John Hughes and Harold Ramis started a very funny franchise by taking the memories of family vacations from John Hughes and turning them on their head in a hilarious fashion. Back in 1997, the theatrical franchise ended with the lackluster Vegas Vacation that didn’t inspire the laughs the previous three films did. Following these was a Cousin Eddie tv-movie and some direct to DVD fare. This year the franchise was restarted this past weekend by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein with Vacation, a comedy that’s a pleasant surprise in a summer filled with big summer action blockbusters. Read more...

v2-Australian-Open-egg This week is absolutely hot and the proof is on the tennis court. The Australian Open is taking place right now and so is a massive heat wave. How hot is a massive heat wave? Hot enough to fry an egg on the tennis court and just about anywhere else you crack an egg outside on the streets of Melbourne. 'No Pants Subway Ride Day', London, Britain - 12 Jan 2014Actually it’s so hot this week that people decided to ride the trains without any trousers. Technically that’s not true, the part about only showing up to the train in their underwear is though. The international, “No Pants Subway Ride” first started as a prank by an improv group of only seven participants, now thousands of people all over the world participate. Although the temperature in Australia may warrant such attire keep in mind that the fashion choice isn’t the best look for everyone. There’s a reason why they’re called underpants. Read more...
