Back in 2012 I did a column that I always consider as one of my all-time favorites. And it was called “Heroes of the Ring”. This column correlates two mediums I enjoy that are very different but the same in many ways: comic books and pro wrestling. The goal of the column was simple, show that the “faces and heels” from WWE lore are not that far apart from the “heroes and villains” in superhero comics. The good guys were larger-than-life and the baddies were just as detestable. Well, the column did so well that I have wanted to do a part 2 with some of the more modern grapplers in WWE. Read more...

“What is the one super power you wish you could have?” is probably a question I have been asked a million times. It’s maybe the most asked question that people ask someone who spends their life surrounded by superhero comics, movies, etc. Well, I personally say telekinesis, because when you can move things with your mind, you can do most of the things other powers allow you to do (also, you never have problems reaching anything or asking someone to get something for you ever again in your life...something I would love). But I think most peoples’ answer is “to fly”, right? Read more...

You know what they say, “you can’t choose your parents”! And the same goes for the world of comics! For every Ma Kent and Susan Richards....well, you get a Mystique and Talia Al Ghul! But keep in mind, even super villain moms love their kids to a degree, and for this special edition Mother’s Day Bleed, I plan on honoring not only the amazing hero-moms, but the ones we love to hate as well! So roll out the red carpet, get the bouquets ready...I’m counting down the Top 10 (But Not Neccessarily BEST) Moms in comics! Read more...

sob7If I’m completely honest with myself, I think DC made a miss step with Justice League: War. While there were elements that I enjoyed (namely Shazam and the interactions between Green Lantern and Batman) mostly the movie felt a little too dark and grim. I was left feeling a little flat but hopefully that this was merely a stumble along the road of above average films. Hot on the heels of JL: War comes the next DC animated movie, Son of Batman. Based upon Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert’s Batman and Son saga, this latest installment in line follows the events that unfold when Batman discovers  that he has a ten year old son with Talia al Ghul (Morena Baccarin). Returning to the cowl is Jason O’Mara who sets the Dark Knight on one of his greatest challenges yet; to change the mindset of a small boy who has known nothing but violence and the ways of the League of Assassins. Damian Wayne (voiced by Stuart Allen) is a prodigy. He’s strong, wilful and incredibly skilled in combat but for all the expertise he has as a warrior he lacks in innocence. The heir to Ra’s al Ghul’s (Giancarlo Esposito) throne is given into the care of his father following his grandfather’s murder at the hands of Deathstroke (Thomas Gibson) as the mercenary become s all-encompassing threat in Talia’s life.
