Injustice: Gods Among Us was only just the beginning. NetherRealm, the same video game studio that develops the Mortal Kombat series has yet another blockbuster Fighter franchise on their hands. Injustice delves into an alternate DC Universe where Earth’s greatest hero, Superman, becomes the type of tyrannical villain he was once sworn to oppose after he executes The Joker. The snowball effect of that event creates a world where our heroes and villains are drastically changed and the status quo of the DC Universe is flipped upside down. The first game’s story mode had the heroes of a more familiar Earth come to help Batman’s rebels battle Superman’s regime, but this new installment shows us the aftermath of that story. A new threat emerges as Brainiac (who is responsible for the destruction of Krypton in this reality) attacks Earth’s cities and enlists the world’s vilest menaces to aide him. Read more...

So a few weeks back I made a list of the Greatest Marvel Cartoons Of All Time, and it was so fun and popular I thought I would give it a shot for the other team, DC Comics. And let’s be honest, this is going to be the most difficult list to put together!! Read more...

When they write the history books on cartoons, Warner Bros will have its own wing. And it will be the first wing built. From the debut of Bugs Bunny (at least, I could contend further back) to their last direct to video release Justice League Vs Teen Titans the astonishing grip on what can be done with the medium is constantly being used to get the most complete and relevant effect possible. No matter your feelings on DC’s comics or movies it is clear they are the only game in town when it comes to the conversation on best animation. Read more...

Days ago, the saga of the Universal Studios science-fiction lore known as "Heroes" made a comeback with the launch of a miniseries titled " Heroes Reborn". While I never watched the original Heroes series, I actually felt a sense of joy in witnessing the return of a saga full with adventure and action beyond the limits of the realistic as rise science-fiction and fantasy on North American continues to grow, and if you are a fan of the previous Heroes, I am sure a lot of you are happy to witness the revival. sollicitations-DC-juin-12Well, the big buzz this week in comics was the announcement that after their next big event, Convergence, DC Comics is going to be making some BIG aesthetic changes to some of their most popular characters. And I'm talking BIG. HUGE. MEGA. SHOCKING...freakin' weird....CHANGES! Didn't they already DO this like not 4 years ago?! YES! THEY DID! TOTALLY! Is rebooting trendy? YES! IT IS! TOTALLY! Do they need to keep doing this every few years to maintain sales and stay relevant and keep columnists and bloggers like myself talking about them? THEY OBVIOUSLY THINK SO! And I can't help but give them exactly what they want. Because some of these costumes are so freaking drastic that I just can't stay silent anymore. I'm gonna stop and give my thoughts on all of the announced revamps that are happening post-Convergence. It's time, DC. Let's have a chat, bro. Read more...

tte1001-preview1-df575It has been quite some time since I reviewed a DC comic book...YEARS, as a matter of fact! Possibly not since the New 52 began! So I figured it was time for a change...it IS a new year, after all. And since I heard the wonderful team of Jeff Lemire, Terry Dodson and his wife, Rachel Dodson were on board for a brand new Earth One graphic novel, this time centering around a fresh take on the Teen Titans, well...it was time to review a DC book. Now, I may be a huge Marvel fan, but I sure as heck love me some DC Comics as well (especially of the Bat variety), and it's time to stretch my legs and do a non-Marvel review, just 'cause. And Teen Titans is an interesting book to review as well, because well...I was NOT a big fan of the Titans growing up. Yes, even the Marv Wolfman/George Perez run that is so popular. I was just not exposed to the comic. Read more...

TitansFive teens come together to save the world! There may be no plans right now for Cyborg, Robin, Beast Boy, Raven and Starfire to team up for a Teen Titans live-action feature film, but hey, we can always count on fan films to make our dream movies somewhat of a reality! Teen Titans was a super popular comic book for DC in the 80's and has made a resurgence as of late from the two cartoon series', and who knows?  With DC looking for a TV show to compete with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a Titans show maybe isn't that much of  a stretch!
