Wow! What an upgrade from that mess a couple of years ago. Here we have the sequel to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 2014 from Michael Bay's production company. That movie was hot, hot garbage to me. THIS movie was a much better improvement. Read more...

No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn?! It looks like Leo, Donnie, Mikey and Raph will have no sleep 'til June! Because that's when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows hits theaters!  We've got a brand new trailer that shows a lot more of the mutant baddies, Bebop & Rocksteady (played by Gary Anthony Williams & WWE's Sheamus respectively), a bit more of Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, and even the Turtles' arch-nemesis, Shredder (it looks like we have a newer, younger Shredder in Brian Tee)! Well, whether you loved it, hated it or just thought it was okay, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice made its mark at the box office and drew in record numbers worldwide. And it’s confirmed that now Ben Affleck (the guy in the bat-suit, in case you didn’t know) and DC big shot writer Geoff Johns will be writing the screenplay for a solo film starring Affleck’s Batman. But with so many Batman films in the past, what could they possibly do with the caped crusader that already hasn’t been done?! Read more...

WARNING: THIS COLUMN CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! It’s very rare when I feel the urge to write a review for a video game. Usually I play them, complete them (to my liking...I’m not always a completionist but I enjoy at least finishing the main story) and go onto the next one. And then just recently I completed Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady’s latest (and supposedly final) installment in their Arkham saga, at 100%. While the game gives you the option of ending things once the main story is over, I got word pretty quickly that if you finish the game at 100% (basically capturing every major villain at large and making Gotham once and for all), you get a “super special” awesome ending. “Run and tell your leaders this is their last warning. Either obey Master Shredder… Or face all-out war.” - Leonardo When IDW Publishing re-launched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, I knew I had nothing to worry about. They have successfully handled licensed franchises such as Transformers and Ghostbusters and launched them as high-end titles which have been able to hold their own against the plethora of superhero books on shelves. The origins of the major characters have been tweaked, modernizing them but keep enough of their original roots to make them instantly identifiable. The most important aspect, and one which is integral to the success of any iteration of the TMNT line, is keeping the emphasis on family; notably the relationship between Master Splinter (as sensei and father) and his four sons; Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello. superman64Glitchy, disappointing games from generations past (such as "Superman" for the Nintendo 64) have given video games based on comic book properties a reputation for selling the sizzle with none of the steak. Thankfully, some games have bucked that trend in recent generations to deliver immersive storytelling experiences worthy of their comic book counterparts. Which are the best of the best? Here are our top three: Read more...
