The House of Black and White has already begun laying some of the ground work for the events yet to come this season by orchestrating the positioning of key players into specific locations and interrupting the status quo. Never being one to make us feel comfortable, this episode of Game of Thrones has some more upbeat moments that you can feel are desperately tinged with danger.
The excellent Maisie Williams returned as Arya Stark who we last saw setting sail for Braavos in search of her enigmatic protector, Jaqen H’ghar. Arriving at Braavos felt truly epic as the young Stark passed under the legs of the colossus guarding the port and arrived at gates of the House of Black and White, a guild that still remains as obscure as its inhabitants. Initially being shunned, Arya passes the first initiation and is reunited with her mysterious savior and protector as he switches faces to reveal his true identity. Hopefully, the upcoming insight into what goes on behind those doors won’t reveal too much about Jaqen H’ghar as the unknown is simply what makes him so wonderful to watch.
