As you probably know (if you are a regular reader of Full Page Bleed, you are HARDCORE with this stuff), the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is JUST about ready to hit theaters all over the world, and the world (scratch that)...the UNIVERSE is ready. Or is it? There’s a whole lot of new characters and developments about to be unleashed on us in this movie, so we need to be properly prepared for the onslaught. Every so often I do some rigorous research and put together a little must-read guide...just to get everyone caught up to speed and fully aware of what is in store in the latest big superhero blockbuster or TV show. To make it clear, I don’t exactly find it fair to lump all 13 episodes of a season, with different directors and writers works on different episodes all judged as one general opinion. It’s not something I regularly do, but in the era of binge...this is what it is. I’ll do my best. And particularly for a series like Iron Fist it feels unfair. There seem to be a few episodes that indeed are more impactful than others. And that in itself, could be the series’ biggest flaw. While it maintains a level of entertainment, this really did feel like some sort of bipolar hybrid of a show. How to balance corporate boardroom drama with kung-fu superhero action? Hmm. Read more...

So, I recently have been (in the middle of waiting for a Marvel fix in between Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage), loading my Netflix list with a plethora of classic (and some recent) Marvel cartoon shows. And like I did ever since I was a kid, I just fell in love and re-fell in love with almost all of them. Do you remember what your first Marvel cartoon was? Did it make you a fan for life? Did it make you interested in the comic it was adapted from? It was meant to. For generations Saturday morning or afternoon cartoons were the vehicles for comic companies to gain interest in their characters (before live action movies). Read more...

When Marvel does a mid-season filler, it goes big! Instead of watching reruns while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on hiatus, ABC last year had a much more stellar idea...and we got the return of one of the MCU’s most beloved heroines, Peggy Carter. (Strategic Scientific Reserve), the precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D. , in the late 1940’s. In that male dominated world, Peggy, along with hr old ally Howard Stark and his faithful butler Edwin Jarvis.
