In the last episode, we saw Barnes murder at least two men. Alice Tetch’s blood has turned him into some crazed vigilante. When he “switches” he becomes judge, jury and executioner. He’s on a mission to find all of the guilty in Gotham. Unfortunately, Dr. Simon didn’t die before he could tell newly reinstated GCPD officer, Jim Gordon, that Barnes was responsible for throwing him through a wall. Read more...

This week we knew we were going to see the wrath of Jervis Tetch. His beloved sister, Alice, was killed and that put him over the edge, which seems nearly impossible as he was pretty much over it to begin with. Seriously, who dresses up in top hats and has tea parties these days? The bromance between Nygma and Penguin are also coming to a boiling point. The tension between these two is ridiculous and getting awkward. What kind of trouble is Gotham in this week? Here’s a hint, it starts with the letter “M” and goes on from there. Read more...

Holy Gotham, Batman!  Gotham’s newest villain is turning out to be the best villain we’ve seen so far. He’s smart, he’s cunning and he’s just now hitting his stride. We were introduced to Edward Nygma during the first season and it was obvious from the start he was someday going to be the mischievous villain, Riddler. Ed is an employee of the GCPD working in the forensic science department. The job at the GCPD really threw a wrench in his character’s story. How was this guy going to turn into a villain? Cory Michael Smith nailed the part of Edward Nygma, the shy and socially awkward guy who got bullied by his co-workers. Read more...

Episode seven is titled, “Mommy’s Little Monster”.  It’s safe to say that there is a serious parenting problem in Gotham. Mommy’s little monster could be in reference to pretty much all of the characters we’ve seen so far. Almost everyone can have some sort of diagnosis from the DSM-IV and yes, they’d probably blame all of their issues on their parents. Seriously, what’s the deal with these people in Gotham? Another explosive episode that brought about many turning points for a lot of characters. Some secrets were uncovered and some new secrets that proved to be deadly. Is it smart to have secrets in Gotham?  One bad place to have secrets is in the GCPD.  It used to be a place where you could get away with anything and the cops kept each other’s secrets.  Now that Captain Barnes is in charge and the new recruits are around no secret is safe.  So far secrets have only gotten people killed in Gotham. Barbara Keane’s parents, Alfred’s friend Reggie and several other lesser known villains. Let’s see what kind of damage the secrets of Gotham did in episode six “By Fire”. Read more...

Now that there’s been a full week to digest the fact that Jerome is not the Joker and come to a good realization that the writers for Gotham are cleverer than most thought, this week the show got back to being a good old cop show. Season two, episode four is titled “Strike Force” and with good reason. No, it’s not 2069 and aliens haven’t invaded Earth, that’s the Marvel universe, we’re still in DC here. Strike force is the name given to the newest recruits to the Gotham GCPD. Michael Chiklis made his debut as Captain Nathanial Barnes and his first mission as captain was to get rid of the crooked cops. He fired every cop who had a criminal record and made threats to get rid of any other cops that do funny business. That should make Jim Gordon sweat a little bit but for now Barnes makes Gordon his second in command. Together they go to the academy and handpick new recruits. Read more...
