it's not often we cover Kickstarter campaigns that have already met their initial goals, but this is one we couldn't pass up and help spread the word! Sometimes a comic project is too original and has such a unique look that we need to get it out there. Read more...

As far as Canadian superheroes go, We all know of Captain Canuck, Marvel’s Alpha Flight and Wolverine and of course, The Heroes of the North (a production which I myself am a part of), but not many people know of the original Canadian comic book superheroes of the Golden Age. Rachel Richey is a Canadian comic book archivist and historian and has made it her mission with her Comic Syrup Press publishing label to bring awareness to Canada’s comic book history and put these great characters back into the spotlight. At Montreal ComicCon I had the chance to sit with Rachel and chat about herself and her projects! Enjoy! Read more...

Welcome back to the end of the week wrap up party. This is where we find out if Shia LaBeouf is being sued by Nike for his “Just do it” motivational speech and if the NY Post publishes more drivel than a knock knock joke book. This week was like one big kick to the stomach in the entertainment world. We lost so many great actors and entertainers. Sir Christopher Lee, Ron Moody, Mary Ellen Trainor and Dusty Rhodes. We also lost Vincent Bugliosi this week. Not an actor, but is well known as the man who helped put Charles Manson and his “family” in prison. All of these people touched our lives in some way and they will be greatly missed. Read more...

“It’s the classic Boy Meets Girl story but with a horror twist as in this case girl may very well EAT boy.” !cid_5E3CD3DD-0B03-4AE8-B866-7419D288DA42I was first introduced to Raven Gregory’s work on the incredible comic book, FLY. Here was a book that changed the rules on how we traditionally experienced superheroes. These characters took an experimental drug which granted them god-like abilities. Problem was FLY was incredibly addictive. This was a powerful story from which the writer invested his own personal experience. I found it breathtaking and made me look to the rest of Gregory’s back catalogue for more of his work. Re-imaging the adventures of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland was just the start and I was privileged to take a peek at his upcoming creator-owned work Widow's Web. Read more...

*Obligatory NSFW Warning Message!!! The following AWESOME interview contains some slight offensive language!! Viewer discretion is advised! Blame the monkeys! - ENR Editing Staff* “I would go to bed each night, thinking about them more and more, and they would not leave my sleep deprived mind... And then... well then they started talking." 10736066_560717054072036_229150679_n Here at eXpert Comics, we always try and look out for new and exciting projects – books that are have their own unique flair and style, things we’ve never seen or read before. Whether it be an Indie title, a comic from one of the Big Two or a new Kickstarter project, anything that interests us and catches our eye, we accept the privilege of showcasing for you. One such project came to my attention over Facebook a few months ago. Shit Flingers – a book about the occult adventures of a troop of soldiers cursed to live out their days in the bodies of apes and monkeys – were asked for contributors for their fantasy anthology. I needed to know more. This book played to all my sensibilities – secret organisations, the magical and mysterious and, of course, talking monkeys! Read more...
