It's been a long while since I have sat in front of my keyboard and did this and all I can say is spell check is wonderful. Enough of that though. It is well documented (by me), that I am not what anyone would call a gamer. For the most part I am satisfied with Mario Kart and the like. Read more...

Welcome to my 6th consecutive Bleedie Awards! My yearly column where I give totally fabricated awards to the best (in my opinion) in comics and comic themed TV, video games and movies! This year in many ways was an interesting one, with DC revamping their line of books yet again with Rebirth and Marvel once again going to Civil War! Also, the Star Wars comics once again rocked and ruled from a galaxy far away! Read more...

Shot 3 for ASM Vol 3 No 7When Marvel Comics first announced that it will be launching the multi-part storyline “Spiderverse” in The Amazing Spider-Man # 9 (to come out in November 2014), I was so hyped up about it because the premise it intends to deliver was something I have been wanting in Spider-Man comics for a long time. Yes, we are talking about Earth-616’s original Spider-Man teaming up with counterparts of himself from across multiple universes within the official Marvel Universe continuity. Unfortunately, it appears Marvel is releasing more than one separate prelude to the storyline each planned to have its protagonist (whether it be The Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man noir, etc) going through a series of events that do not connect to the other. Therefore, I was going through a tough position to determine which one is the most important to prelude to focus on, especially when the alternate dimension Spider-Men and Spider-Women looked so awesome. But eventually, knowing that the Amazing Spider-Man will be the star of the upcoming event, I decided to stick to the Spiderverse prelude story that is running in The Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 3) No. 7-8. So, I got me a copy of issue 7 of the current volume of ASM and here is my review.   Read more...

cap falconThere comes a time when reading comic books that all you can do is keep reading and hope for the best. I have been around this medium for a while now. I have read and looked at some the best stories ever written in anyone's favorite medium. Stories of bravery, compassion, love and tragedy. We have seen some heroes come and some go, although not for long, in most cases. I have spent who knows how much money keeping up with my heroes of youth.  I am one of those people who no matter who carries the title of Super Hero X now, my favorite is the one I grew up with. I'm not saying I won't read the new stories with the new hero, I'm just saying that the current hero may not be the one I want him or her to be. Last week was a bonanza of news coming from the House of Ideas. It is almost funny that the "new ideas" aren't really new ideas, but they did shake up the comic fans for a week, and heading into SDCC I guess that is what they wanted to do. It did however leave a few questions, and left some folks like me wondering what was coming next. So let's take a look and see what we can piece together.   Read more...
