It shouldn’t have taken this long. Wonder Woman, the first full-fledged female superhero, created in 1942 by Charles Moulton Marston (also the creator of the polygraph test, in case you didn’t know) and H.G. Peter and maybe one of the most recognized comic book icons in history should have gotten a live action, full-length, wide released film adaptation DECADES ago. But perhaps the world was not ready. Perhaps female-led superhero movie flops like Catwoman and Elektra held things back. But let’s be honest here. The fact that Barb Wire got a movie before Wonder Woman is just too embarrassing. Previously on “Agents of HIVE”: This Neo dressing prettyboy ancient Inhuman cultist guy is going WAY TOO FAR! Hive (who is inside the dead body of Grant Ward) has the abilities to infect his fellow Inhumans and making them become his loyal minions. He has done so to the nearest and dearest S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and the main heroine of the show: Daisy “Quake” Johnson! Last week we found out he also voodoo’d James (and they exposed him to Terrigen, giving him the powers of his comic book counterpart, Hellfire), as well as the redhead femme fatale who can duplicate herself (like Jamie Madrox), Alicia. Daisy brought Hive the Kree orb that James gave S.H.I.E.L.D., but Hive immediately knew there was a piece missing. James buried that piece under his trailer, but when Coulson and May arrived, they set a bomb! Coulson was fine though...because he had an ENERGY SHIELD built into his cybernetic hand. It was awesome, and it was a clear nod to Captain America: Civil War. Another silent nod to the movie would come as Glenn Talbot contacted Coulson to tell him that Gideon Malick (who Daisy exploded two weeks back) gave up enough intel for the government to raid all of the straggling Hydra facilities, possibly crippling the terrorist organization for good (but probably not). I get the feeling the new Marvel movie (in theaters NOW, go see it!) will take over from there. Read more...

Previously on AoS: Gideon Malick in custody! Gorgon taken down! Secret Warriors assembled! But as soon as everything looks great for Daisy’s team, everything falls apart as Malick informs Coulson that Hive likely has infected one of his Inhuman agents. But which one?! Yo-Yo? Joey? Lincoln? Could it actually be the leading heroine in the show, Daisy? After Malick is murdered in his cell and they discovered the Kree artifact that they got from James was in Lincoln’s locker, they suspect and inprison him, but was it planted? YES! Lincoln IS NOT the mole. It’s actually the person we least expected: DAISY “QUAKE/SKYE/TREMORS” JOHNSON!!! NO!!! WHY? HOW? Read more...

Exploding onto the scene in 1941 with a punch that would reverberate through history, Captain America would go on to become an icon and one of the most influential comic book characters ever created. This March, celebrate his 75th Anniversary and the legacy of what it means to be Captain America with the oversized CAPTAIN AMERICA: SAM WILSON #7 – a giant 80page issue commemorating the past, present and future of the Sentinel of Liberty! Holy crap on toast! I think when we collectively laid eyes on the costume and then the trailer for the Deadpool movie we had a pretty good idea we were getting something good. The travesty that was the final 15 minutes of X-Men Origins: Wolverine would be rectified, finally. Read more...

Previously on S.H.I.E.L.D. – It all seems to make sense now! The human identity of the big bad Inhuman serial killer Lash was revealed by a tortured Werner Von Strucker to Agent May, and he is none other than (SPOILER ALERT!), May’s ex-husband and the guy S.H.I.E.L.D. has hired to evaluate any Inhuman they find, Dr. Andrew Garner! Shocking, but it actually made a lot of sense, since Garner would get all the info he needed from S.H.I.E.L.D. and he survived Hydra’s attack and the gas station explosion with barely any injuries. There’s nothing better than having a faithful furry companion, is there?! We all love our pets to the point of loading up all of our social media accounts with cute pictures of them, and some of us even give our pets their OWN accounts (although it could be a bit crushing when your puppy gets more followers than you)! Of course even our beloved comic book superheroes have pets as well...and some of them are just as badass at fighting crime and beloved by fans as their owners! Read more...

So, it all but looks like the Marvel Universe will be getting the do-over treatment once their mega-event Secret Wars comes to its conclusion. Which could be called a bit redundant, since DC Comics did it not even 5 years ago. But I personally always choose to look at the situation “glass half full”, and absolutely refuse to see ONLY the bad effects from flushing away decades of continuity in one fell swoop (actually, I already did that in another column months ago). After all, it’s now happening no matter what. I might as well look forward to the ushering in of a whole new age of Marvel comics! More importantly, a whole new era for creators who may have never even gotten the chance to work on certain titles a chance to start from scratch and rebuild these heroes from the ground up.
