Previously in the first half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3: Coulson continued to operate S.H.I.E.L.D. in secret and the team got to tracking down new Inhumans that recently underwent Terrigenisis by consuming fish and fish oil supplements because a substantial amount of Terrigen infected the ecosystem. At the same time, President Ellis instated a publicized agency called the ATCU as a response team to the inhuman “epidemic”, headed by a woman name Rosalind Price. As we learned more about Price and her agency, a new dangerous Inhuman called Lash was discovered to be murdering his own kind. Not trusting Price at first, Coulson eventually felt drawn to Price and the two eventually came to an understanding about how to handle the Inhuman problem, much to the dismay of Daisy “Skye” Johnson...and my own stomach. I was not a fan of the woman. Turns out Lash was none other than Agent May’s ex husband and S.H.I.E.L.D. ally, Andrew Garner. Read more...

When Bruce Timm & Paul Dini created their great character Harley Quinn in the Batman Animated Series, I guess they had no idea that one day not only make the jump into the comic book Batman world, but become one of the most popular characters around. And it began quite the trend. Over the years we've seen such characters as Smallville's Chloe Sullivan and Lionel Luthor  make the same jump, and most recently Marvel has brought Phil Coulson and his Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. team into their comic universe, as well as Morph from the 90's X-Men animated series. And the Green Arrow comics have also brought the characters John Diggle and Felicity Smoak into the mix (even though Felicity WAS already a character, the New 52 version is now based on the Emily Bett Rikards character from the Arrow tv show). WARNING! If you haven’t yet seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier (GEEZ, what are you waiting for?!), you may wanna get off your butt and go see it before reading this article, because it’s full of spoilers!!! Tons of them! A lot of freakin’ spoilers! And you must be really confused with all the “Hail Hydra” memes everywhere. Go see the hottest movie on the planet already, ya procrastislacker!   captain_america_2So, what do ya know? Marvel has done it again! Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a hit among comic book and movie enthusiasts everywhere! The movie has a bit of a darker tone than a lot of the recent Marvel films and for me is a throwback to how we felt with the very first Iron Man movie. It’s just what a Captain America movie should be, intrigue, action and good ‘ol “cloak and dagger s#!t” (and I don’t mean the super-couple!). And it really does change the whole scope of the Marvel movies, at least for the time being! I’ve said it to friends, and now I’ll officially say it in prose: “Captain America: Winter Soldier is Marvel’s Dark Knight.” In fact, it’s possibly even better than that film! Read more...

astonishingxmensw4So, last time we got to see who the Top X-Teams of all time from 10-6, and teams such as Wolverine & The X-Men, Grant Morrison's New X-Men and the unforgettable Australian team were featured. (If you missed it, you can check out Part 1 right here!) But who could be in the Top 5? Who could be left? Well, turns out I had quite a few teams to choose from, and not to worry, Maggot's not in ANY of them. Oh Maggot...how we so want to forget you and your gross, slug things that come out of your body and eat things.   Let's stop dilly-dallying and get back to the grind!  The fifth spot features the team that is just impossible to keep off of the list! gwenNot long ago I wrote a review of all the pertinent Spider type books. The reason for the three book review was that Peter Parker was once again Spider-Man in a comic book titled Spider-Man! I have for the last year wondered if there was still a place for Pete in the Marvel U, and couldn't figure out why Marvel had decided to ditch him. I had written about my hate for Spidock, but I also admitted that the stories were engaging and I still collected the book. That said I also said for the most part these last few weeks I was pretty much only getting the Superior books because I was waiting for the day Pete came back. Marvel has released that Pete is coming back, and I for one am thankful. To celebrate this momentous (to me at least) occasion I am going to cover the Top 6 Spider-Man stories for me of all time. This is completely my view and it would be fantastic if you folks would put down your favorite stories in the comments section! Also there were so many that this list is pretty much not in any order other than number 1. Read more...

batwing ASince FCBD, I started picking up new comic book titles. I was pretty committed to DC before as I am (and will be for the foreseeable future) a huge advocate the New 52 universe. It excited me and made me interested in my favorite characters in a completely new way. I ate up most of the Green Lantern titles, Earth 2 and the re-imagining of the Justice League. Read more...
