The 4th season of agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has indeed been all over the place, but it’s been (arguably) the best one the show has ever done, and without any blatant connections to a Marvel Studios film. Sure there was Daisy Johnson’s Sokovia Accords hearing and Jeff Mace/The Patriot’s fame he got from being an “accidental hero” during U.N. attack (both being events from Captain America: Civil War) and the introduction of the mysterious Darkhold, a mystical book that delves into the same territory as Doctor Strange, but for the most part this season of AoS basically ran on its own steam. And, thanks to the assist by Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider and the amazing job by the show’s special effects team, the series has been all the better for it. Read more...

While last week’s episode wasn’t the fastest paced episode all season, it did provide us with a shocking ending! Coulson and Jeff Mace a.k.a. The Patriot infiltrated Hydra HQ to find Daisy Johnson (who had been captured), while there they rescued Trip (HE’S BACK!), who had been embedded in Hydra as a double agent only to be discovered and captured. They also discovered that children (some of Coulson’s students even) were being brainwashed!! While saving the kids, Aida and Evil Fitz ordered a Quinjet to take down the entire building where the kids were being conditioned. After discovering the horrible things Hydra was doing to innocent children, May, who had been a pretty nasty and loyal Hydra agent, switched sides and decided to help. BUT in order for everyone to escape, Mace had to sacrifice his life. At the end of the episode, May goes to Daisy’s cell and breaks open a Terrigen crystal, cocooning Daisy and giving her back her Quake abilities. Read more...

Things are not hunky dory in Hydra-ville, guys. The Agents (Daisy, Jemma, Phil, Leo, Mack, May and Mace) are all still jacked into the Framework. Madame Hydra/Aida/Ophelia is in charge and rules with an iron fist (sorry to bring “him” up, I know he’s not exactly popular right now). She has May and especially Fitz in her thrall and after the previous episode, it really seemed like they were turned evil for good! Especially after Fitz murdered the woman Aida was modelled after, Agnes (or rather, her consciousness, since her physical body was already dead) in cold blood! This was a huge, disheartening moment especially for Jemma who witnessed the whole thing and was sure she could “snap” him out of it like Daisy did Coulson. Is Fitz a nasty Hydra scientist and Madame Hydra’s boy-toy for good?! Read more...

Well, the Framework has proven to be quite a problem. You didn’t think Daisy Johnson and Jemma Simmons would jump in there and fix everything in one episode, didja? Nah, this very realistic digital world is a lot more screwed up than they (or we, the audience) ever imagined. Hydra somehow turned the entire United States into a police state, Coulson’s a nerdy teacher, Fitz and May are very nasty Hydra agents, Grant Ward is alive...NOT Hive and....a good guy working for The Resistance?! It’s been a great fourth season of AoS so far. Starting with the MCU debut of Robbie Reyes, the new Ghost Rider, and the LMD story arc has been pretty awesome, but in my eyes, this latest episode of Agents truly took the crown as probably the best episode of the season so far. Building up to this, we saw the Watchdogs and their leader The Superior along with former S.H.I.E.L.D. ally Holden Radcliffe and his sinister and seductive LMD Aida take Director Mace prisoner and last week Coulson and the crew came to the rescue....but then, things got weird. Somewhere along the mission (I’m still not sure when or how) Aida replaced almost the entire team with evil LMDs! Read more...

This week we got an interesting change of pace on AoS. And while I haven’t been totally on board with “Philinda”...after this week’s episode, I am starting to get it. Last week S.H.I.E.L.D. director Jeff Mace was captured by the Watchdogs while Daisy Johnson was “Quaking” the crap out of Tucker Shockley (who basically was “gifted” with the powers of classic Marvel baddie, Nitro). The Watchdogs and their “Superior” Anton Ivanov, used  Shockley to distract S.H.I.E.L.D. and took Mace as their prize. Of course they did...it’s not like they would just have some “Inhuman alien filth” hanging around. They killed two birds with one stone there. Read more...

Well, this week’s episode sure was explosive! Now that the Agents are aware that Holden Radcliffe, his gorgeous but deadly LMD Aida, Anton Ivanov and his group of Watchdogs and Senator Ellen Nadeer are all in cahoots, they can begin to form a plan on how to stop them and save Agent May (wherever they have her captured).
