I don’t know what kind of being James Gunn is at this point. He seems like a director of geekcentric film that was built from the ground up for the benefit of mankind. He just seems to get it. He knows that in these times we need films that are fun from beginning to end and will absolutely take us away from our complicated lives for a couple of hours. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, like its predecessor, does that spectacularly. Read more...

As you probably know (if you are a regular reader of Full Page Bleed, you are HARDCORE with this stuff), the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is JUST about ready to hit theaters all over the world, and the world (scratch that)...the UNIVERSE is ready. Or is it? There’s a whole lot of new characters and developments about to be unleashed on us in this movie, so we need to be properly prepared for the onslaught. Every so often I do some rigorous research and put together a little must-read guide...just to get everyone caught up to speed and fully aware of what is in store in the latest big superhero blockbuster or TV show. Montrealers are about to get another dose of extreme geektastical awesomeness this summer! Our own "Bleeder King", Dave Michaels went to the big MCC 2015 press conference and brought back some very juicy announcements! MCC spokesman, radio DJ, rockstar and friend to eXpertComics, Jason Rockman, hosted the event along with Montreal mayor (and self professed fanboy), Denis Coderre. Mayor Coderre said he was happy to visit the convention last year and cannot wait for this year's event. Leading the pack of celeb guests is Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, Jason Mamoa! Jason was one of the guests in 2013, and loved it so much, he's back to visit his MTL fans! Read more...

Netflix_MarvelWe've all seen that amazing Daredevil teaser that Marvel released for their upcoming Netflix series starring the an Without Fear, and we can expect to see one for A.K.A. Jessica Jones really soon too! I think what got everyone excited was the more serious and darker tone than what we're used to from Marvel. While I'm sure we will get a few humorous moments, it seems Marvel is definitely using the Netflix format to bring its audience much more adult material. So this got me thinking, what other heroes could Marvel bring to Netflix once it's Defenders team has been established? Netflix Phase 2, if you will? It sounds like a perfect topic for one of the Bodacious Bleeder's lists! Read more...

DEAD With the fifth season of the hit AMC television series The Walking Dead starting up this weekend, fandom is at a fever pitch for a show whose ratings keep rising with every season. Mike Rooker, who isn't on the show anymore after his character was killed, still resonates in the mind of fans for his portrayal as Merle Dixon, brother of Daryl Dixon. Catching up with him at Wizard World Austin, I received a great lesson in acting and how the producers went out telling him when he would bite the dust on the The Walking Dead. Read more...

Nathan5Nathan Fillion is Nova!!! Wait...wait. The director, James Gunn, just tweeted. He’s not. Wait! Wait! He’s in a cameo! WE’LL TAKE IT! This has been the emotional roller coaster that we geeks have been going through in the last 48 hours. Finally, it had seemed that our darling Firefly/Serenity/Castle star had finally joined the Marvel family, and then...it was all taken from us. And now, there’s a glimmer of hope. Nate may not be Richard Rider, but he will be SOMEONE, and you’re not going to give him a meaningless role. Heck, even Gary Shandling’s tiny role as Senator Stern has become memorable and spawned an internet sensation (see Captain America: Winter Soldier AND like, the internet). Read more...
