Well, it’s Valentine’s Day (or Valentine’s week or month for some...why have bounderies?), the time when lovers love and secret admirers let their feelings be known! And single people? Well, I guess they all deal with this day differently! The most important thing, whether you believe in celebrating V-Day or not, is that you appreciate your special someone all year around! And for those of us bleeding hearts that bleed comics as well, we get our #relationshipgoals from our heroes and their perfect/not-so perfect relationships! So, I figured what better way to toot St. Valentine’s horn by firing up the ‘ol Listmaster 5000 machine and do one of my old fashioned lists! This time it’s comics’ Top 10 Power Couples! Some are superheroes with non-superheroes, and some of them are both supers...but all of these sweethearts showed us that their true powers are their love for each other (awwww)! Read more...

In 2005, 20th Century Fox took a stab at making a live-action film based on the first family of Marvel Comics, the Fantastic Four, while the movie made money and Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis had great performances, it wasn’t the film that fans had hoped for. Two years later, a sequel was made and not even the presence of the Silver Surfer could have saved that film. Years later a reboot of the popular foursome was announced with Josh Trank, director of the unexpected hit Chronicle, in the director’s chair and a cast full of young and capable actors. Needless to say, fans were intrigued and excited. Would the third time be the charm for this franchise? To be honest, HELL NO. This movie is boring, poorly paced, overly dark for no reason, and contains a climax that’s out of place and just plain puzzling. Read more...

Well. Here we are. Some of us thought this would happen. Some hoped it would. Others really don’t care one way or another. But we choose to ignore those jerks. Fox’s latest Fantastic Four reboot has crashed and burned faster than Johnny Storm in issue #587. Personally, there’s a part of me that really feels sorry for a lot of the actors and crew involved that likely worked their asses off to try to make a cool movie. Nobody thinks of them when making fun of these movies that don’t do well. I also found it a sad state of affairs when “internet buzz” flops a movie before its release. Something about it doesn’t seem fair. When did Rotten Tomatoes start to run our lives and make our opinion for us? Read more...

I knew of the Fantastic Four since around the mid-1990s when the 1994 animated series Fantastic Four (better known as "Fantastic Four: The Animated Series") was in its run. I never read much Fantastic Four comic book stories as I mainly read Spider-Man stories when it comes to what I tune into from the Marvel Comics side of things on a regular basis, but I always managed to tune in to every animated series Fantastic Four ever produced when they were available on the television airwaves (there were four by the way), and it was thanks to watching them that I got to know everything there is to know about the famous four-member super-hero team whose comic book series gave birth to Marvel's Silver Age (1961-1973 if not mistaken) as well as some of its most famous adversaries (such as Doctor Doom, Galactus, and Mole Man for example). You know what they say, “you can’t choose your parents”! And the same goes for the world of comics! For every Ma Kent and Susan Richards....well, you get a Mystique and Talia Al Ghul! But keep in mind, even super villain moms love their kids to a degree, and for this special edition Mother’s Day Bleed, I plan on honoring not only the amazing hero-moms, but the ones we love to hate as well! So roll out the red carpet, get the bouquets ready...I’m counting down the Top 10 (But Not Neccessarily BEST) Moms in comics! Read more...

When people think Valentine's Day, the one word that comes into mind is "romance" or even "love". Anyway, I am not a fan of romance genre of any entertainment medium. Nor am I the kind of person to celebrate Valentine's Day except for the part where I like to eat Valentine's candies (as long as they are nut free of course). But since Valentine's Day is nearing, I decided to present a fun feature to coincide with the countdown to this special love day. Over the years, both comic books and animation have featured a huge variety of love couples, whether it be married couples or premarital ones. As I look back, thinking about which few are the best to appear in comics and cartoons up to date is not an easy task, but through examining the characteristics that make each special, I manage to build a small list of the best love couples comics and cartoons have to feature. 1) Lupin III and Fujiko Mine1) Arsene "The Wolf" Lupin III and Fujiko Mine (Lupin III) This love couple is indeed a funny one. While the gentleman thief Arsene Lupin III is the kind of guy who will do anything the woman in his heart, Fujiko Mine often plays the gal putting the man of her affections (and his heist partners gunman Daisuke Jigen and swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII) in danger in attempt to accomplish heist goals (including ones to defeat a particular enemy). Luckily for Fujiko, the thrills of heist and danger are what keep she and Lupin a couple that never ceases to amaze each other, not even throughout many years worth of animated adventures. F4It's here! The official trailer for the new Fantastic Four reboot due this summer! And while opinions of the trailer are mixed, it definitely shows an FF like we've never seen before! Starring Michael B. Jordan (Human Torch), Kate Mara (Invisible Woman), Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Jamie Bell (The Thing) and Toby Kebbell (Doom), the movie promises a much darker tone and more serious version of Marvel's first family. Love it? Hate it? Not sure yet? You decide! Here's the first trailer! Read more...
