I finally got around to reading a couple of the new "DC Rebirth" titles. I have heard many good things about the new DC titles from several friends and decided to try them out. I decided to try out the newest issues of two of my all time favorite characters -- Batman and the Flash! The issues that I just read (Batman #15 and the Flash #15) are BRAND NEW! They are just off of the book store shelves! Therefore, SPOILER WARNINGS are in full effect! You have been warned! Read more...

"No, no, boss - not -- not Happy Birthday!" Man of Steel # 3 starts off with Superman going to a neighboring city to apprehend a dangerous criminal -- The BATMAN! Superman sees the Batman swinging on his Batrope , while in pursuit of a thug with information that he seeks. Batman is startled when Superman grabs the Batrope with the intention of taking Batman to Police Headquarters. Since this is a place that Batman wishes to " ... visit on my OWN terms!" (this story takes place during Batman's early career when he was outside the law in Gotham City. At about the same time that this story appeared, Frank Miller's four part "Batman:Year One" story was hitting stands) And, before a startled Superman can react, Batman lets go of the Batrope and starts to plunge to the ground below! Superman tries to save him only to discover that he is "GONE! There is not a sign of him!" Read more...

Well, whether you loved it, hated it or just thought it was okay, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice made its mark at the box office and drew in record numbers worldwide. And it’s confirmed that now Ben Affleck (the guy in the bat-suit, in case you didn’t know) and DC big shot writer Geoff Johns will be writing the screenplay for a solo film starring Affleck’s Batman. But with so many Batman films in the past, what could they possibly do with the caped crusader that already hasn’t been done?! Read more...

Well, we’re just a few weeks away from probably one of the most anticipated superhero films ever. Finally, after GENERATIONS of comic book fans waiting for it to happen, the two most popular comic book characters in history will finally meet head-to-head in a film. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be when it will happen and, as the title entails, our heroes (played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck respectively) will first collide, and then inevitably join forces and form the Justice League (SPOILER ALERT). And oh yes, there is a third character in the mix, the Amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot), not to mention Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) no doubt manipulating the whole confrontation behind the scenes and releasing the destructive Doomsday on the world! Will there be more? You betcha! Most of the future JL members are rumoured to have cameos, including Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) and Vic Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher). This movie is jam-packed! Read more...

Back in late 2012, I had the chance to read the 1986 Frank Miller-written comic book miniseries landmark Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (also known as "DK I"), which I have to agree is one of the best Batman works DC Comics has ever published up to date despite being set outside the dimensions that make up the legacy of mainstream dimension settings within the DC Universe continuity (you know, going from Pre-Crisis Earth-Two to New 52's Earth-0/Prime Earth). I mean, it had a great narrative and version of Bruce Wayne that looked kinda' scary but awesome. Read more...

“I’m Unbreakable.” That was what did it for me. I’m probably the biggest Luke Cage fan that I know, ever since reading my older brother’s Power Man And Iron Fist comics back when...well, before I could even read...I’ve always thought that these two superheroes could be phenomenal in live action, be it TV or movies. September 27th was Batman Day, a day where every year generations of fans of the Caped Crusader celebrate the awesome pop culture icon. Just what is it about The Bat that has made him the most popular superhero of all time? Is it the badass costume? The fighting skills? Those “wonderful toys”? Maybe it’s his super intelligence or detective skills? Well, it’s ALL of those things, really. But I think most of all, it’s the relatable nature that the character exudes. Without any real powers, Batman is pretty much a normal person. Read more...

While we at ENR cannot fully confirm it, Latino Review is reporting that Jenna Malone (of Sucker Punch fame) is possibly portraying Commissioner Gordon's daughter, Barbara Gordon in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and possibly more DC Cinematic Universe movies down the line. This does contradict earlier reports that Malone would be possibly playing Carrie Kelly, the female Robin from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, which a lot of BvS seems to be based on.  Read more...
