I’ve been wanting to do this column for weeks now, and in that amount of time some interesting developments have happened to the solo Batman movie in development starring Ben Affleck. Affleck first dropped out of being the director of the film allegedly because he didn’t think he could handle starring AND directing...which sounds pretty simple. Then Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves was apparently being courted for the job, then some rumors of Affleck being (ALREADY?) tired of being The Bat sprouted around the internet....and now apparently the Reeves thing has fallen apart. The movie could very well be in limbo at this point. Read more...

If you will recall from my previous column, I had decided to (due to all of the good reviews associated with DC Comics' new "DC REBIRTH" books) to try out a couple and see how I liked them. Last week, I reviewed Batman #15 and found it an enjoyable issue (I was not TOO happy with the ending, however) and this column is the Flash #15's turn! The issue begins with the Rogue's Gallery breaking into a museum in order to steal a huge golden bejeweled statue of Mercury, God Of Thieves. The assembled Rogues are their leader, Captain Cold, his sister The Golden Glider, The Mirror Master, the Weather Wizard, Heat Wave and the new Trickster. Read more...

I covered DC Comic's LEGENDS #1 last week. This week, I will be covering issue #2 of the series !! Legends #2 starts off with Gwyneth Tate, a newswoman who is reporting on the incineration of Macro Man .by Captain Marvel. G. Gordon Godfrey "happens" to be on the scene for an interview. Godfrey bemoans the "Rise of the Super Hero" who he claims will bring about society's downfall. "Today's high powered world is too sophisticated, too complicated, simply too dangerous for such a outdated notion as the Heroic Ideal!" Read more...

"Heroes get remembered, but legends never die!" -- Babe Ruth. "The EPIC Of The CENTURY -- STARTS RIGHT HERE! So screams the cover blurb on the cover of the first issue of DC's six issue mini series "Legends". The people tasked with producing the book had a daunting task before them. Legends was o be DC's follow up to the monumental Crisis On Infinite Earths comic that had made such an impact the previous year. The problem? How do you follow a series that featured thousands of characters (every character that existed in DC Comics stable made at least a brief appearance during the course of the issues)? Read more...
