I was recently drawn into a thread on Facebook that asked if we thought that the Atom was/is a "B-Lister" character. My EXACT response to this--"I do NOT find the Atom, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Zatanna, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Elongated Man, Aquaman or the Martian Manhunter to be ANYTHING but A-Listers!" A hundred years is a long time! In 1915, there were many major events of note: The President was Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat who was keeping the US out of the World War in Europe. The British Ocean Liner, the Lusitania, was sunk by a German submarine (1,195 people lost their lives.128 of those were American citizens). Filmmaker D.W.Griffith released "Birth Of A Nation", and Boston Red Socks won the World Series. It was into this turbulent world, on June 19th of 1915, that a baby was born who would grow up to have a tremendous and lasting impact on the world of fandom, and the world of comic books! The baby's name was Julius "Julie" Schwartz. June 19th of 2015 would have been Schwartz' ONE HUNDRETH birthday, and it is hard to imagine how different the world of comics (and of fandom in general) would have been had he not existed. d9Welcome, eXPress Legions to the counterpart to my 5 Disney Properties That Need To Be Movies column, Marvel of course included. Tit for tat, both sides of the coin I always try to be as fair as I can so it seems natural we do this one too. Time Warner, the parent company for Warner Brothers and DC Comics haves so many rights in so many fields to so many different properties there was the fortune of many to choose from -  however there is SO many that it also made it incredibly difficult. After watching an advance copy of Son of Batman I decided I couldn’t review it spoiler free so I went to work on the properties list. So let’s get this monkey smoking… So when I compiled this list I tried to stick to a few things that would ensure the success of these properties as films, how they would most likely be adapted, whether a large audience would be viable I also wanted to not focus too heavily in one area, dividing it up among the different licenses genres and styles.
