Well, whether you loved it, hated it or just thought it was okay, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice made its mark at the box office and drew in record numbers worldwide. And it’s confirmed that now Ben Affleck (the guy in the bat-suit, in case you didn’t know) and DC big shot writer Geoff Johns will be writing the screenplay for a solo film starring Affleck’s Batman. But with so many Batman films in the past, what could they possibly do with the caped crusader that already hasn’t been done?! Read more...

There was no new episode for Supergirl this week, and while the sadness lingers from this new joy has arisen. The new promotional art released today for the March 28th Supergirl/Flash crossover is almost the most exciting news surrounding the show. Almost. What thrills the nerves and stimulates the cortex is the announcement that Supergirl is getting a season 2. While we don’t know for sure what the rest of season one holds it is still a fan exercise to create a wish list for next season. Read more...

Well, we’re just a few weeks away from probably one of the most anticipated superhero films ever. Finally, after GENERATIONS of comic book fans waiting for it to happen, the two most popular comic book characters in history will finally meet head-to-head in a film. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be when it will happen and, as the title entails, our heroes (played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck respectively) will first collide, and then inevitably join forces and form the Justice League (SPOILER ALERT). And oh yes, there is a third character in the mix, the Amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot), not to mention Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) no doubt manipulating the whole confrontation behind the scenes and releasing the destructive Doomsday on the world! Will there be more? You betcha! Most of the future JL members are rumoured to have cameos, including Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) and Vic Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher). This movie is jam-packed! Read more...

We have been spoiled little fans recently, haven’t we?! Lately we actually got to see some pretty heavy trailers that showed us quite a bit of both Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice AND Captain America: Civil War, two of the BIGGEST comic book movies coming out in 2016. Here I am, a fan of all of these characters really excited to see both films, and I actually think both trailers do a good job at adding to the excitement. Read more...

There are many iconic images that stretch back through Batman lore and we each have our own favourite pieces. For some, it could be the Dark Knight illuminated by a lightning bolt from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. For others, it could be the Joker wielding his Joker Fish from Detective Comics #475, Catwoman and Batman embracing in Hush, and some may cite the Bat Armour from the epic Night of the Owls. For me though, the full page spread of Batman broken across Bane’s immense knee is one of the most evocative and ultimately chilling images in all of the Caped Crusader’s adventures. Read more...

arrow1Last time on Arrow was part 2 of the show's Black Canary trilogy. So far, Laurel Lance, as Black Canary, found her worth as a super-heroine being put to the test when she battled Brick. Throughout the conflict, she suffered injuries that caused the pain of her losing her sister Sara (a.k.a. "Canary") to return, leading her to almost give up on surpassing her dead sister. Fortunately, she managed to pass the test to prove her worthiness as a heroine with the help of Roy Harper/Arsenal, John Diggle, and Felicity Smoak, who decided to return to Team Arrow when realizing that Oliver Queen's/Arrow's absence could never in the way of the team's being able to help those in danger. Meanwhile, Malcolm Merlyn found himself debating with his daughter Thea Queen on how to deal with Ra's Al Ghul when he comes to find them, whether it was to exit Starling City or stay and fight back. Most importantly, Seo provided way for Oliver to avoid capture from the League of Assassins after Oliver recovered from his fight with Ra's Al Ghul, but unknown to Oliver and Tatsu (Seo's wife), Seo is still helping the League hunt down Malcolm Merlyn. Now, we arrive at the point where we look at the final part of Arrow's Black Canary trilogy, "Uprising". Read more...

sinestro3Mark Millar’s latest effort is MPH – a group of teens get hold of a drug that gives them super speed and a host of other powers. Like his best work, Millar takes something extra-ordinary (in Kick Ass it was superheroes, Wanted it was super villains and in Kingsman it was super spies) and sets it in a very real, identifiable world. These are teens with real problems who could find all the answers they need if they keep taking MPH. With great power comes great power and these kids know it. Far from ordinary is Sinestro. Everyone’s favourite anti-hero (but he’d hate to be called that) and always diligent villain continues his quest to gain control over his former corps. The mythology of the Sinestro Corps is continuing to be further expanded as huge changes are taking place across the whole Emotional Spectrum. This makes Sinestro all the more potent an individual and a figure to be reckoned with. Read more...
