The 4th season of agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has indeed been all over the place, but it’s been (arguably) the best one the show has ever done, and without any blatant connections to a Marvel Studios film. Sure there was Daisy Johnson’s Sokovia Accords hearing and Jeff Mace/The Patriot’s fame he got from being an “accidental hero” during U.N. attack (both being events from Captain America: Civil War) and the introduction of the mysterious Darkhold, a mystical book that delves into the same territory as Doctor Strange, but for the most part this season of AoS basically ran on its own steam. And, thanks to the assist by Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider and the amazing job by the show’s special effects team, the series has been all the better for it. Read more...

Last week, still jacked into the Framework, Coulson and the crew “raged against the machine”...literally, and hijacked Sunil Bakshi’s (yeah, THAT jerk came back) pro-Hydra talk show...and basically told the world that Hydra is “fake news”. That was merely step one in trouncing Aida’s fabricated world. Next would be escaping the Framework altogether, and finally waking up. Read more...

While last week’s episode wasn’t the fastest paced episode all season, it did provide us with a shocking ending! Coulson and Jeff Mace a.k.a. The Patriot infiltrated Hydra HQ to find Daisy Johnson (who had been captured), while there they rescued Trip (HE’S BACK!), who had been embedded in Hydra as a double agent only to be discovered and captured. They also discovered that children (some of Coulson’s students even) were being brainwashed!! While saving the kids, Aida and Evil Fitz ordered a Quinjet to take down the entire building where the kids were being conditioned. After discovering the horrible things Hydra was doing to innocent children, May, who had been a pretty nasty and loyal Hydra agent, switched sides and decided to help. BUT in order for everyone to escape, Mace had to sacrifice his life. At the end of the episode, May goes to Daisy’s cell and breaks open a Terrigen crystal, cocooning Daisy and giving her back her Quake abilities. Read more...

It’s been a great fourth season of AoS so far. Starting with the MCU debut of Robbie Reyes, the new Ghost Rider, and the LMD story arc has been pretty awesome, but in my eyes, this latest episode of Agents truly took the crown as probably the best episode of the season so far. Building up to this, we saw the Watchdogs and their leader The Superior along with former S.H.I.E.L.D. ally Holden Radcliffe and his sinister and seductive LMD Aida take Director Mace prisoner and last week Coulson and the crew came to the rescue....but then, things got weird. Somewhere along the mission (I’m still not sure when or how) Aida replaced almost the entire team with evil LMDs! Read more...

Well, this week’s episode sure was explosive! Now that the Agents are aware that Holden Radcliffe, his gorgeous but deadly LMD Aida, Anton Ivanov and his group of Watchdogs and Senator Ellen Nadeer are all in cahoots, they can begin to form a plan on how to stop them and save Agent May (wherever they have her captured). Even though I’ve been a die-hard viewer since the beginning, even I have to admit that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been hit-and-miss over its 4 seasons. And with so many “comic book” TV shows around, it’s beginning to be harder to defend it sometimes. But sometimes an episode comes along that utilizes the show’s full potential. It’s in the writing, you see. A spy show set in the world of superheroes has so much potential, it's ridiculous. And if you've stuck with it, you can see why the show has its fans...and also why it frustrates others at the same time. It just can't seem maintain the stride it needs to be consistent. Read more...

Well last week we found out all the dirt behind S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Jeffrey Mace, and the truth is, he’s a big ‘ol phony! He’s not an Inhuman after all and he’s not even a hero, the U.S. Government faked his powers with a diluted version of Daisy’s father’s Mr. Hyde formula! Gee, that “alternative facts” thing sure is catching on! Read more...
