It shouldn’t have taken this long. Wonder Woman, the first full-fledged female superhero, created in 1942 by Charles Moulton Marston (also the creator of the polygraph test, in case you didn’t know) and H.G. Peter and maybe one of the most recognized comic book icons in history should have gotten a live action, full-length, wide released film adaptation DECADES ago. But perhaps the world was not ready. Perhaps female-led superhero movie flops like Catwoman and Elektra held things back. But let’s be honest here. The fact that Barb Wire got a movie before Wonder Woman is just too embarrassing. Daredevil_18_CoverIf you know anything about me, you’d know that I was a fan of Wizard Magazine, if not that it was an actual magazine stuffed with fun articles about comics and comics related topics. It was a genuine magazine publication devoted to the stuff I loved. Wizard had letters page, top 10 lists, interviews, previews of upcoming comics and of course this cool column that I always looked forward to: Casting Call, where they would cast actors into completely fabricated comic book adapted movies. This was when comic book movies were just beginning to emerge in abundance, so this was pretty imaginative and we never really thought that any of the movies would be made...but here we are with 2 or 3 major comic book films coming out every summer! So you can imagine how happy I am to be a full-fledged comic book columnist and sort of get the chance to keep what Wizard started right here in The Bleed every week! So, the big Marvel Studios news from Marvel’s Big Shot Mega-Producer Kevin Feige this week was that the rights that 20th Century Fox had to produce Daredevil movies have expired and the rights go back to Marvel, to do with as they please. In this new trailer for the upcoming Star Trek video game (based on the J.J. Abrams films and not the original show), these two mortal enemies do battle once again...and this time it's for keeps! star-trek-into-darkness-teaser-posterStar Trek: Into Darkness has a spanking new trailer, and it is a doozy! Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto) and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will be hunting a dangerous new foe played by Benedict Cumberbatch who is hellbent on destruction and it looks like Starfleet will ever be the same after this one! Casualties are certain, and I'm not just talking red shirts (honestly, why do they even go on away missions at this point?) Here's the new International trailer, and see if you can catch a certain cameo! Read more...

star_trek_into_darkness_teaser_3_tThere sure are a lot of great sci-fi/fantasy flicks coming out this summer, and one of them is Star Trek: Into Darkness, J.J. Abrahms' follow up to his hit 2009 Trek movie! In this highly anticipated blockbuster we will get to see Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine), Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto), Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban) and the rest of the crew of the U.S.S.
