I’ve been wanting to do this column for weeks now, and in that amount of time some interesting developments have happened to the solo Batman movie in development starring Ben Affleck. Affleck first dropped out of being the director of the film allegedly because he didn’t think he could handle starring AND directing...which sounds pretty simple. Then Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves was apparently being courted for the job, then some rumors of Affleck being (ALREADY?) tired of being The Bat sprouted around the internet....and now apparently the Reeves thing has fallen apart. The movie could very well be in limbo at this point. Read more...

In the Fall 2015, the DC Universe super-heroine Kara Zor-El, the most popular DC character to go by the moniker of Supergirl, was granted her chance to shine as a solo protagonist on the small screen as Supergirl premiered, and although it is only in its first season, it manages to be a huge Nielsen rating victor and many sci-fi fans in the west (even those who are not regular basis comic book readers) seem to can't get enough of the super-heroine herself. In case you never heard of Kara Zor-El, the description of her life story is simply: she is a natural blonde beauty from planet Krypton who possesses the same powers and strength as her cousin Kal-El (also known as "Clark Kent" and "Superman") and seeks to find her place on Earth. But with so many Batman films in the past, what could they possibly do with the caped crusader that already hasn’t been done?! Read more...

Well, we’re just a few weeks away from probably one of the most anticipated superhero films ever. Finally, after GENERATIONS of comic book fans waiting for it to happen, the two most popular comic book characters in history will finally meet head-to-head in a film. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be when it will happen and, as the title entails, our heroes (played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck respectively) will first collide, and then inevitably join forces and form the Justice League (SPOILER ALERT). And oh yes, there is a third character in the mix, the Amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot), not to mention Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) no doubt manipulating the whole confrontation behind the scenes and releasing the destructive Doomsday on the world! Will there be more? You betcha! Most of the future JL members are rumoured to have cameos, including Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) and Vic Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher). This movie is jam-packed! Read more...
