Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man! Let’s be honest, Spidey has not had the easiest time being adapted to the big screen. While the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire trilogy and even the Marc Webb/Andrew Garfield films have their fans, they had their share of critics too. Read more...

So, I recently have been (in the middle of waiting for a Marvel fix in between Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage), loading my Netflix list with a plethora of classic (and some recent) Marvel cartoon shows. And like I did ever since I was a kid, I just fell in love and re-fell in love with almost all of them. Do you remember what your first Marvel cartoon was? Did it make you a fan for life? Did it make you interested in the comic it was adapted from? It was meant to. For generations Saturday morning or afternoon cartoons were the vehicles for comic companies to gain interest in their characters (before live action movies). Read more...

Sometimes I think it’s not even right for me to write reviews on Marvel Studios’ movies. What can I say? I’ve never received one paycheck from the company, and I feel something of a “company man”. I’ve grown up adoring the Marvel Universe and its characters. You can’t look in any direction in my house and not see some kind of Marvel merchandise. But for Captain America: Civil War, I just can’t sit here and not speak about the movie. It’s not even a movie to me at this point. After seeing it I can only call it a materialisation of everything I love about comic book superheroes, specifically Marvel’s brand of heroes. Read more...

Over the years since the 1990s, there has been occasions where Marvel Comics has managed to expand on the early months of Peter Parker's life as the web-slinging super-hero Spider-Man while still focusing on what goes on present time within the official Marvel Universe continuity. I am sure some of you remember Untold Tales of Spider-Man, a series where the stories bridge between 1960s issues of The Amazing Spider-Man. Some of you may have read the graphic novel Spider-Man Season 1. And maybe some of you read "Year One: Learning to Crawl", the multipart storyline in The Amazing Spider-Man exploring the first 60 days after the events in Amazing Fantasy No. 15 (which featured the start of Peter's life as Spider-Man). There’s nothing better than having a faithful furry companion, is there?! We all love our pets to the point of loading up all of our social media accounts with cute pictures of them, and some of us even give our pets their OWN accounts (although it could be a bit crushing when your puppy gets more followers than you)! Of course even our beloved comic book superheroes have pets as well...and some of them are just as badass at fighting crime and beloved by fans as their owners! Read more...

You know what they say, “you can’t choose your parents”! And the same goes for the world of comics! For every Ma Kent and Susan Richards....well, you get a Mystique and Talia Al Ghul! But keep in mind, even super villain moms love their kids to a degree, and for this special edition Mother’s Day Bleed, I plan on honoring not only the amazing hero-moms, but the ones we love to hate as well! So roll out the red carpet, get the bouquets ready...I’m counting down the Top 10 (But Not Neccessarily BEST) Moms in comics! Read more...
