Looking Towards the Old Republic Part 2

Wednesday, 16 October 2013 12:10
the-old-republic-logoBioware has announced that they will release a new space-based  expansion for their popular MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic entitled  Galactic Starfighter. While details of this new expansion are limited,  Bioware has released a new video trailer that shows some of the features  and gameplay experiences that players can expect to take part in. Since launch, Star Wars: The Old Republic has contained some space  content which is a far cry from what fans expected to experience. Each  character class has access to their own starship, which in a way acts as  player housing. Unlike many MMOs, this... Read more...

Looking Back at the Old Republic Part 1

Wednesday, 16 October 2013 05:07
sw leadOn December 20th, 2011, the world was first introduced to Star Wars:  The Old Republic.  It is a massive multi-player online game (MMO for  short) set within the Star Wars Universe, 1,000 years before the first  film. Prior to the game's release, it was expected that it would replace  World of Warcraft as the dominant force within the MMO market. However,  despite being hugely popular at the point of its release and having a  wealth of positive reviews by fans and critics alike, the game never  quite lived up to its expectations. Prior to its release, it was believed that Star Wars: The Old Republic ... Read more...

Diary of a Comic Book Convention Part 1

Tuesday, 10 September 2013 05:38
indexThis is the first of a two part article, that will look at my experiences with two recent comic and film related events in Glasgow. While events of this nature are common place in the US and Canada, they are a fairly novel concept in the UK. It was refreshing to see such an established and internationally renowned event as The Edinbrugh Book Festival devote so much energy into comic-books this year. It should have perhaps acted as a preminition of what is to follow in this article: a mixture of nostalgia, cynical opinion and romantic notions of journalism. Despite my ranting and moaning, I hope you enjoy my first foray into the world of comic-book... Read more...

Ultimate Underdog Stories...and Football

Tuesday, 03 September 2013 11:16
celticI support the Scottish football team Celtic, who recently qualified for  the Group Stage of the Champion's League. Celtic was the first British  team to win the European Cup and over the years has had enormous success  in European football. They have reached countless finals and semi-finals, yet despite their glory, Scottish football has been in decline. Last year, each team in the English Premier League earned a massive £60 million ($93 million), with additional funds being obtained based on  their final position in the league, performance in domestic cups and  their performance in European football. In contrast, winners... Read more...

I am Groot...So What

Wednesday, 14 August 2013 14:30
828685-vin_diesel_picture_1Vin Diesel has confirmed that he will be playing the character 'Groot'  in the forthcoming cosmic superhero movie Guardians of the Galaxy. In late June, Diesel announced that he was having a meeting with Marvel Studios, yet he declined to comment on which role he was in contention  for. Speculation suggested that Diesel was set to play the character  Vision or as Black Bolt in long a rumored film adaptation of The  Inhumans. Diesel unofficially announced his role as Groot on Twitter when he  mysteriously published a picture of the character. Read more...

Jaws: Reboot Smells A Little Fishy

Tuesday, 13 August 2013 14:48
jaws-reboot-209x300I own the website At Tha Movies which syndicates the latest movie, comic-book and gaming headlines from the most popular websites on the internet (including eXpertComics!). Last month, we started syndicating media jobs from over 2,000 employers  in the UK and US. This has ended up being a very popular feature on the  website and it's staggering how many positions become available each  day. This is due to a number of different factors, each worthy of an  article in themselves. Once in a while, a job will catch my eye: one which may present a  'scoop' or tidbits of information about new films or... Read more...
