Goodbye, Batman - Adam West Passes Away

Written by  Published June 10, 2017 01:02
ENR is saddened to announce the death of one of TV's iconic stars and arguably the most recognizable actor to ever don the cape and cowl of Batman, Adam West. He was 88. It is reported that Mr. West died peacefully alongside his family after a short battle with leukemia.

Tutspell 53 West starred as the Caped Crusader in the 1966-1968 TV series and a live action movie alongside Burt Ward's Robin and a huge cast of guest stars as Batman's Rogues Gallery. The series was cancelled after 3 seasons, but lived on for decades in syndicated reruns and was one of the most beloved television shows in history. Even to this day, Batman '66 is revitalized in new merchandise, comic books, video games and cartoons based on it. And at conventions and expos all around the world, West was known to fully embrace his legions of fans that regarded him as the most legendary Batman of all.

But Batman wasn't the only character West was known for. Seth McFarlane cast West as the mayor of Quahog in season 2 of Family Guy, character that was an oddball, kooky parody of himself. This role gained Mr. West a whole new generation of fans.

The entire ENR and staff would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Adam West. He was indeed considered comic book/pop culture royalty and will be dearly missed.

As always, we would like to commemorate the legendary career of Adam West with this collection of video clips.
